Laura Goode was raised outside Minneapolis, Minnesota, and counts Midwesternness among her finest traits. She received her B.A. from Columbia University in 2006, and will, barring catastrophe, receive her M.F.A. from the same university this spring. She recently served on the committee to select the first poet laureate of Minnesota. Her favorite dress was made by Hmong artisans in the Twin Cities, and it is green.
Kristi Maxwell currently lives and writes in Cincinnati. She is the author of Realm Sixty-Four (Ahsahta Press, 2008), Elsewhere & Wise (Dancing Girl Press, forthcoming in 2008), and Hush Sessions (Saturnalia Books, forthcoming in 2009). Her individual poems have most recently appeared, or will very soon appear, in Practice: New Writing & Art and Forklift, Ohio.
Kate Schapira lives in Providence, RI, where she organizes the Publicly Complex reading series, featuring innovative work by soon-to-be-famous writers. She’s the author of two chapbooks, Phoenix Memory (horse less press) and The Saint’s Notebook (forthcoming from the CAB/NET Chapbook Series). She’s taught poetry workshops to incarcerated women, middle-school students, college students and first-graders, and is proud of recent acceptances to and appearances in A Sing Economy (an anthology from Flim Forum Press), Denver Quarterly, Cannibal, Word for/Word and Practice.
